Four SMPS Students Named Winners in State MLK Essay Contest
Congratulations to the following SMPS students who were named winners among hundreds of students from all over the state for their submissions to the "Project on Racism Essay Contest":
Georgio Alexander (1st place, Grades 6-8 Division)
Lexie Kosanovic (2nd place, Grades 6-8 Division)
Matt Mazur (2nd place co-winner, Grades 3-5 Division)
Zoey Kefauver (3rd place, Grades 3-5 Division)
The winners and their teachers (Mrs. Railing and Mrs. Hilk) will be recognized at the State of West Virginia Martin Luther King Celebration Luncheon held at The Cultural Center in Charleston on Jan. 14. They are also invited to attend a local celebration in Wheeling on Jan. 16.
