Students Surprise Principal Richardson with Flash Mob Dance in Honor of Principal Appreciation Day
Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 was a special day at St. Michael's, one where students came together to celebrate Principal Appreciation Day. After weeks of practicing Michael Jackson's famous Thriller Dance, the 8th graders (along with several 7th graders) surprised Mrs. Richardson with a flash mob dance after morning prayer. Then after the dance, students held a banner that said, "We are THRILLED you are our Principal."
Mrs. Richardson was called to the front of the school hall where students representing every grade came forward to present her with several gift items. The first was a Brighton "Celebrate" bead, followed by a Gift-shaped Brighton bead. Next came the gift of a a beautiful Brighton watch. The last two gifts were a Cross bead and a "Family" bead. TK teacher Paula Foster, our social committee chairwoman, announced that the gifts put together signify the following sentiment from the school community: "Celebrate" the "Gift" of "Time" you've given our "St. Michael Parish School Family."
